Once a Filter has been created, you can execute the filter as frequently as you wish, or even automate its execution. The execution runs the SQL code generated by your filter design and populates the filter.
Running the Filter
Once the filter is completely defined with all the required Filter Elements, or even before it’s complete just to give it a test run, Clicking the Run! button in the upper right corner actually executes the filter. The Run! button also redraws, or cleans up and organizes, the Filter Elements on the Filter Designer.
After the Filter itself is refreshed, refresh the Results section to view the new results.
Viewing the Results
To view the objects found by the filter, select the Results section. The results will likely need to be refreshed.
Warning: The Filter Results are filtered by the Main Filter (the Type and Region panel on the left) to make it easier to drill into the Filter results. It’s common to forget about the Main Filter and view only a partial set of the Filter Results causing you to think that the Filter isn’t working correctly.
Filtering the Main Browse
If the filter status is set to Live, the filter can applied to the Main Browse by selecting the filter and enabling the Filter Section Button.
Mapping a Filter
The Map feature can select all the objects found by a Filter and place them on the map. This assumes that the objects have contact geo locations.
Exporting to Excel
The Filter Results can be exported to Excel using the Excel icon. This feature requires Excel installed on the local computer.
